MEET THE DIRECTOR
THE Career Hospitalist ADVISEMENT and Mentorship PRogram (CHAMP)
The field of Hospital medicine has shown an exponential growth over the last several years with a 50% growth rate of practicing hospitalists between 2012 and 2019 and a projected growth of an additional 26% expected by 2030. Despite having some of the highest expected growth rates amongst all medical specialties, there is a significant lack of foundational support for trainees interested in the field.
The Career Hospitalist Mentorship and Advisement Program(CHAMP)is a comprehensive program established for internal medicine residents in their post graduate two and three years that provides an innovative and individualized multi-phase development program to best prepare the hospitalist of the future.

OUR PhILOSOPHY
The journey to a career hospital medicine will be unique to each of our trainees. We believe that a holistic and individualized approach to trainee mentorship and development is the key to success. Through one on one mentorship pairing, employment advocacy and a uniquely tailored career development curriculum, we can individualize the support any trainee may need to succeed in their future career.
OUR METHODOLOGY
We have developed a core team of faculty and alumni career and mentorship advisers from a diverse background in hospital medicine.
Our dedicated advisors guide our trainees through a comprehensive multi-phased program that begins in their PGY-2 year and continues beyond graduation into their time as practicing hospitalists.
Our mentorship efforts are paired with a two year curriculum that has been developed to foster the skills needed for our trainees to succeed in the field of hospital medicine and beyond.
ST RONGER TOGETHER
As the field of hospital medicine continues to evolve and grow, it is paramount that we work together to support our trainees and future colleagues in this amazing field. We would be happy to schedule a brief meeting to provide an overview of our CHAMP program and cross-collaborate to establish a foundational program at your institution.
